About the event

Following on from the success of the last Conferences organised by the CMM, the XV Conference on Steel and Composite Construction aims to disseminate the latest innovations and achievements in this type of construction, seeking to make a decisive contribution to the promotion, consolidation and expansion of the sector. The conference is intended to be a privileged place to exchange ideas and experiences between the various parties involved in the design and execution of steel and composite structures and research and teaching activities in the field. This edition will focus on “Energy” and “Artificial Intelligence”.

This edition will also feature the I Facade Engineering Conference, where we will highlight topics of special interest to this sector.

Participation in the Conference allows the possibility of publishing a selection of the best papers in the CE/Papers magazine of the Scientific Library of the Wiley Online Library.

Facade Engineering

Innovative solutions for intelligent facades will be highlighted, including the use of versatile materials that adapt their properties in response to environmental conditions, increasing the energy efficiency of buildings.

The Energy theme will highlight sustainable and innovative solutions, highlighting steel construction’s contribution to energy efficiency, the integration of renewables, and the reduction of the construction sector’s carbon footprint.

Artificial Intelligence

Today, it is a strategic tool for optimising processes, promoting greater efficiency in design, task automation, decision-making support, and continuous improvement in project management, emphasising innovation, cost reduction, and increased productivity.

Professor Eduardo de Arantes e Oliveira Award

The Prize distinguishes the best contributions to the conference. The prize honours the achievements of the Professor, one of the most prominent scientists and leaders involved in civil engineering in contemporary Portugal. The winning papers will be published in an international journal in the field.

Portugal Steel Design Awards 2025

The Portugal Steel Design Award 2025 is aimed at projects or construction carried out by CMM member companies. Its main objective is to give visibility to and encourage the creative use of steel in architecture at a national level. At this ceremony, the nominated projects will be presented, and the prize will be awarded to the winning project.

Job Fair

A Job Fair will be held, offering the chance to connect the main companies in the sector with professionals looking for work in this sector.

The Job Fair is scheduled for both days of the conference.
